Climbing the Chimney Tops of the Great Smoky Mountains,
I am shamed
by Amish women in ankle-length skirts
and rotund southern santas in Crimson Tide regalia
Mountain goats trotting up the rocks
while I crab-walk like I have spider-grip on my toes and fingers
"Champion" is emblazoned
on the Amish woman's hoodie
mocking me
and making me wonder
what God allows her "champion"
and her digital camera
but forbids seams
from disgracing her long blue skirt.
