Dancing is Farming

"There are so many acorns - why are there no little trees?" Amy does ballet on the marble seeds.

"Because Lake Forest is landscaped to within an inch of its life."

"Look, this one's trying to grow!" Amy picks up an acorn with a little white sprout sticking out where its cottage cap used to be. Her eyes narrow, and she nods her head, decision made.

"Amy, what are you doing?"

"Rebelling!" She's dug a little hole with her heel into one of the perfect rings of soil that circle the campus' manicured oaks, and is tucking the acorn into its nest. She sweeps the dirt back over with her foot in a quick kick, ball, change.
